How do i ask a host a question about a booking without having to 'confirm and pay'

Hi. I am hoping that someone can help me. I have identified a number of villas in Portugal that are possible options for our family summer holiday. I need to ask a question to the host but i can't seem to do that without hitting 'confirm and book'. I don't want thousands to come off my card as I am not at that stage yet, i just want to investigate a little further by asking the host/s some questions. Is there a way to do this?
