How does homeowners insurance work with Airbnb?

What is my guests from Airbnb causes major damage to my house? I was told my homeowners insurance doesn’t cover. Is there another type of insurance I should get? Does Airbnb cover all damages including major ones, such as fire?

@Aline244 definitely do not rely on Airbnb for insurance. If your current insurer will not cover you then you need a new one. Proper and Foremost might be options, depending on your setup.

@Aline244 you need a homeowner's policy that covers short-term rentals. If you are renting a whole house it's more straightforward than if you are sharing your home. If you search this forum you will find various discussions on this.  I know that Proper and Foremost are two options.
