How to get money back from Airbnb?

Hi,

I canceled my host a one month ago and Airbnb have not pay my rent money back.

I have try to several times to get money back and get help.
One month is long time to wait payment..

@Tuija0 - we're other hosts here, you need to contact Airbnb to handle financial issues such as this.  However, there are number of factors that determine what your refund should be, including that you may not be entitled to any refund at all.

So in this point. I pay rent money  to Airbnb and canceled my host on june. The cancellation policy was mediocre.

I have not get my money back from Airbnb and it is August. 

I have many times to try ask money from Airbnb but the server says that is not possibility to do.

What do I have to do to get my promissed moey back, I do not find any email to contect them it is very strange and difficult. Is it serious?

I have a family crises and need to cancel. It is only 2:51pm my time! The Airbnb system did not say I needed to do this on 4pm Eastern Time. I was waiting to see if someone would be okay and was counting on the 4pm time. I am getting less than half back because I am on West Coast time!  I want the remainder of my money. The total was $697.18, my refund was $313.83. I want the remaining $383.35 back.  This is an issue with Airbnb. I just lost almost $400 because the Airbnb website was not specific and transparent. Just ridiculous. How can I be the first person that has had this situation? Has anyone tried to fight this?

@Tim2822  How cancellation policies read is that you have 48 hours on most of them to cancel and get a full refund. That is not peggeed to a specific time- it is 48 hours from when your booking was confirmed. So you shoukd have been able to figure that out, although I realize you were probably distracted by your family emergency. 

If you aren't eligible for a full refund, rather than jumping up and down mad and demanding a refund, you could message the host,  explain the situation,  and politely ask if they would be willing to refund you the rest (Airbnb won't refund their service fees, though) or to refund any days of your booking that they are able to rebook. 

The host might also be willing to apply what you weren't eligible to  be refunded to a future date when you can travel.

If it's a last minute cancellation, you might not have much luck, as the host won't have time to rebook, but if it's a ways down the road, it's a better chance.
