IB deactivated- Anyone had this happen?

Hi,  I cancelled an IB within an hour of the reservation being made due to a problem.

IB has now been deactivated (suspended? who knows) on my listing.

I am getting this message:

"We sometimes require hosts to accept a reservation request even when they have Instant Book turned on. You’re most likely to see this when you haven’t updated your calendar in a while or you’ve recently canceled a reservation."

Anyone else had this happen?

Hmmmm, @Ange2 I don't know.  You must have done something terrible for this auto message, unrelated to your action, to be sent...right?  Auto messages are the worst!!

Airbnb may temporary deactivate the Instant Book feature if they detect that this feature causes some irregular activity, such as a cancellation.

The best way to be sure that this is the cause is to check your emails and maybe call Airbnb for clarification, especially if you believe that you did nothing which may have triggered this deactivation.

Why is a cancellation an "irregular activity"?

Cancellations are an option provided by the airbnb software and we are getting fined for it if applicable.

It's all in the rules and it's all regular.

@Emilia42  So much for one of the perks of IB is that you can cancel without penalty if there is a problem. I guess not!

@Ton11    "causes some irregular activity, such as a cancellation."  But no penalty for  'irregular' activity like a guest who books with children,  animals, and a slew of other no-no's  stated in the house  rules!

@Linda108   Yes, I guess it's a tired question to ask why when one does what Airbnb says you can do "cancel IB with no penalty"  and this was less than an hour after it was made,  the bots spit out automated messages penalizing you for doing what Airbnb says you can do as one of the perks of IB, with no penalty!

I gave up a couple of months ago to find out what the airbnb rules are. Today I know they are flexible, means, they are changing all the time.

@Ute42   'Flexible' - a very diplomatic way of saying arbitrary, on a whim, by mistake or because of a glitch.  Even airbnb has no idea why this was done to my account, but because it's an automated mistake nothing can be done about it!   Talk about a bot take-over.
