Invoices in Romania

Hello everyone!

Does anyone work with Airbnb under a company name?

My accountant and I are wondering how exactly we should invoice Airbnb or the guests so that we are leggaly ok in the accountancy department.

So far I've only worked as a person and declaired my taxes, but as a company I am not sure how it goes.

Does the company issue an invoice for the guest or for Airbnb directly? I know Airbnb issues an invoice for the guest, but the amount differs from what the host receives. I also know Airbnb sends the money straight into the bank account, and as a company you need to have priorly issued an invoice in order to get the money into your account.

Does anyone know how this goes?

Thank you very much in advance!

Silvia

@Silvia1225:

Unfortunately I can only provide information based on my experience in the States, so laws and regulations will differ in Romania. Each of our homes is in a different business name (here we use LLC, or Limited Liability Corporations that are registered with the government) to keep track of the profit/loss of each home as well as to help shield us personally from liability in the event we are sued by a guest. Each LLC has its own bank account that Airbnb deposits money into, just like they would a personal account.

Because you have already set up a bank account with Airbnb you may need to contact them directly to make changes, but here is the basic process:

From your Admin panel click your tiny profile picture in the upper right corner and then select Settings.

From the next screen select Payout Preferences from the left side menu.

Scroll down and click Add Payout Method.

Select bank transfer and add in your bank information.

Once that is completed, go back to Payout Preferences and scroll down to Payout Routing Rules.

You should see the new bank information here and follow the steps to assign the new bank account to receive the payouts for your home.

I hope some of this helps and is relevant to Romania.
