I am wondering if there are any ABB protocols/ policies that I need to follow.
Here is the situation:
A mother and her 30 something daughter are delightful guests who are staying with me. The daughter suddenly became acutely ill and mom requested that I call an ambulance. Daughter was taken to emerg by ambulance. Presently, daughter is at the hospital. I am hoping that all will be well with daughter.
Do I need to contact CS to advise them?
@Corliss2 I would definitely contact Airbnb just to let them know what is happening and to give them details of what occurred and the actions you took. Likely nothing will come of it as it relates to you, but I would think having a record of the situation logged with Airbnb would be prudent.
But to answer your question directly, I do not think you are required to notify Airbnb.
@Clare0 thanks for your quick response. Yes, i will contact CS, just to be prudent.
Update: I contacted CS and there are no policies/procedures in place. Interestingly, it seemed that the only concern was if the guest needs to cancel the remainder of their stay due to extenuating circumstances.
(Daughter has been admitted to hospital.)
Well @Corliss2 You've done all you can do then. I hope the daughter gets well soon.
@Corliss2 do you know what would happen if they needed to cancel the remainder of their trip?
We had an ambulance called out to our airbnb this afternoon (by our guests). No one was admitted to the hospital (EMS left) but as first time hosts we're really concerned. It's a long term booking so they will still be here (in our guesthouse) for another few weeks. Just want to make sure we're taking the appropriate actions to make sure everyone is safe and we're taking care of our responsibilities as well.
