Does anyone know what company underwrites the million dollar per occurance liability coverage that Airbnb says it offers all hosts? Or direct contact information for the someone within the insurance company who can answer questions? I have called the super host hotline several times and no one can ever answer my specific questions.
i am not trying to process a claim. I just want to read a legally binding policy to find out what exclusions might be hidden in it. I am trying to decide whether I should get a private policy or rely on the blanket coverage offered by Airbnb.
secondly, has anyone here ever needed to defend a liability claim using Airbnb’s coverage? Would like to know about actual experiences and ease of claim processing.
Information about the Airbnb guarantee terms are outlined in it's Help Centre. It also has information about it's liability insurance.
All hosts should also take out their own home insurance to cover short term lets.
@Grant25 I'm under the firm belief that airbnb do not pay for any insurance, any settlements come out of the vast profits. I don't think you'll find anything legally binding as airbnb have the exclusive right to change anything at anytime.

As @Helen3 say's, take out your own insurance.
