I have been hosting for about 2 months and everything has been going well.
Recently my listing views fell drastically. I have been unable to find my listing if 2 nights are selected. I have set the minimum number of nights at 2, so my listing should show up and I've had many bookings with 2 night stays. However recently it does not show up. It will show up if I select 3 nights and above. For example, my available calendar dates are between 21st to 26th August, however if I select 21st to 23rd (for 12 people), my listing does not appear. But if I select 21st to 24th (for 12 people), I appear on the first page. There are only about 50 listings that meet this criteria, so it cannot be competition. I contacted Airbnb and the representative said my listing can be seen for 2 nights, however when I asked my friends overseas to do the search with the criteria (2 nights, 12 guests, entire place), they cannot see my listing. I also zoomed into the my listing's location to check on this, and true enough it only appears if a minimum of 3 nights is set.
I can see my listing when no dates are selected or when 3 or more nights are selected, but not 2 nights.
Has anyone else experienced this or am I missing something here? Any help would be appreciated, thanks 🙂
@ZenHomes0 As you've probably seen from the many other comments on this issue, it's something that many of us have experienced. No solution in sight.
Hi Adam,
I think this has to do with your check-in time (2:00 AM next day). Try to leave the setting in one day and do the search again.
Hope this helps you.
Hi @Kay14 thanks for replying to the post! My check-in time is from 3PM to 2AM (next day), I did try it from 3PM to 11PM but that didn't help :S
Hi Adam,
It shows still 2:00AM in your listing. It probably takes some time to be updated in the system, try the search again in 4hours or so.
You're not alone (see the many other threads on here about this issue). This is unfortunately by design, and indications are that it won't be changing.
Here's a reply I received from Airbnb support when I contacted them about my concerns:
"
We make ongoing changes to the search page and features available to help travelers find the listings that are most relevant to their needs and desires. That often includes experimenting with the placement or existence of different buttons or filters, and gathering associated data to see what our users like best. At this time, we're experimenting with search results for valued hosts and listings which is why your listing is showing up for less than 3 days in upcoming months, this will allow you to take on bigger reservations on following months, however, your listing will also show up for shorter reservations if they are made in the current month (ex: the listing is shown for one night in May since it is the current month).
We are always working to improve our products and policies, and we encourage you to submit your feedback in direct reply to this email. Even when unable to accommodate all requests, Airbnb truly values user feedback -- your voice is both powerful and essential. I’ll be sure to pass your thoughts on to the right team.
Thank you for your time and contribution."
