Meet and greet?

Hello all

im only one year into hosting. Ive learned a lot and I'm sure I will go on learning.

Can you tell me if you think it's best to meet your guests at the house/apartment or leave a key box to check themselves in?

@Angela273 Hi i would advice you to always meet guests and give them the keys in person so that to be sure that the guest is happy with your property and to also help them and ask them the magic question which is " Do you have any questions?". Nothing can beat a nice welcoming smile. Good luck !!!

Yep, I'd recommend meeting them in person too, but I know it's not always possible. For that reason, we employ a property manager who does the meet and greet for us. He knows the property intimately, and can give them all the info they need/ answer any questions etc. I would definitely recommend considering it.

Hi, @Angela273, I use a keybox so guests may let themselves in whenever they like past 1:00 pm. However, I think it's important to try and say "hello, please let me know if you need anything at all" at some point during the stay. I also try to say good-bye when guests leave (not always possible if they leave early in the morning). I do this because I think it improves the reviews, and also because I think it is more comfortable for the guests.

Hi @Angela273,

You might be interested in looking at the discussion in this poll thread  - various hosts explain whether or not they check in their guests and why. Hopefully then you can see both sides!

Happy Hosting!

Dear All,

I am a London based Host that hosts properties in Putney. I charge 10% or £10 for meet and greet (whichever is the greater). I would like to start branching out and provide assistance to Hosts who require my service.

I am born and bought up in Putney and I have had outstanding feedback stating I am helpful and considerate.

Have you got the room to host a guest but do not have the time? I am trustworthy and I have references of local people that is supportive.

Harry
