Mobile phone messaging/calling faulty

Last week, my guest messaged me using text and I never received the message. I also sent him a message through text and it only went through after the guest had left... looks unprofessional, confusing and disorganised. When the guest first arrived he tried calling my mobile through the airbnb app but it didn't go through. My number is correct and verified and the previous guest I had did not have any of these issues... Anyone else have problems with the texting service?

Always best to use the actual messaging system instead of relying on texts.  The app is pretty useful for this.

I sent out a text replying to a message from a guest today, and it did not register in the AirBNB system at all.  This is very annoying.  Recieving a text implies that you can reliably respond to the text.  If AirBNB can not accurately manage this sort of thing they should not be trying to pull it off.

@Lauren123I know this post was a while back, but I've had a similar problem several times. Latest today when a friend who couldn't find my phone number used 'Contact host' on the ABB app on her phone to message me!

 

I never got the message, though she's adamant she sent it.

 

ABB can't see it. Has anybody else had a similar problem, with the app not sending/ receiving messages?
