Hi my name is Loly I moved to Paris this fall to study photography for a year, I soon realized I wanted to make photos of couples and families and I started my airbnb experience because a friend of mine did it two years earlier and gave me tips. I started very well and soon I received not only very good reviews but also great times with the users (I do call them friends) and moments that I share with travelers arround the world is amazing, so genuine and seriously that makes everything worthwhile even though the price I’ve put on it isn’t exactly the most appropriate do to the work I do afterwards retouching and finiding the means to get into the place to meet (now with the social protest in Paris) and also I add drinks and tartalette I provide to make it sound a really good deal and also the 20% of airbnb... takes it´s actually no business.
Still, I didn´t have any issues until know, three out of six participants for 1 morning experience say they arrive at the meeting point at the approximate time, I by the other hand didn´t see them in the meetign point when I left clear instructions of the points we would visit in order, I started with the one that arrived on time, I also shared my phone number to contact me directly so they could join openly anytime in the day. Two of them did the photo walking tour and the activity took place, one I never heard from again but said he was going to report me. Those who had problems reaching me, with whom I did not meet for the activity I returned their money, but obviously not only that solves all. There’s also making up for lost time, the feelings they had, some say it would be the activity of their dreams, that they made this journey that far just to get these beautiful photos and I believe them I do, now I am feeling so bad because I even shared some tips with them, spoke earlier with them for weeks and this communication problem that couldn´t be reached and they also couldn´t call me to my phone because I couldn´t reach them from my french phone airbnb app was awful and I just feel so bad when I do know I´ve been a great host for 2 months. Not because 1 negative experience kills everything but because I did ruin their expectations, dreamss, etc.
It just feels wrong to look as the villain, I am human and make mistakes when I was trying to get them later in the day to do the activity but was super hopeful and one of the participants saw my enthusiams really trying to make it up to them but no answer. Just 1 worked, still I will never forgive myself for this because when someone (traveler) texts you "you broke my heart I was waiting for you" "liar, you were not there" among other things make me feel terrible for them and because I know that I am nothing like that, sincerely.
It shouldn’t happen again, but I will be more careful with the encounter and the application airbnb chat failed me because those messages I sent were not sent in time, and came into dissaster that also determined that we didn’t see each other finally, apart from the fact that I only received a call from one of the participantes to meet, the rest didn´t bother, but you know they really shouldn´t because I should have been more in control of the situation. I did propose to change the time and day for free but they haven´t answered. I know they are pissed, but somehow so I am, because I did spend money as well trying to fin them and getting to the photo area of the shooting.
I wanted to share this with the community so you can learn from this negative enccounter and not make this mistake.
