Airbnb used to have their own host-co-host matcher, but it no longer exists, so hosts and co-hosts need to find eachother either here, which can be tricky- or you could try a local Facebook group.
I'd always say it would be best to have a local co-host if you're out of the country, they can provide on the ground support in the case of rare emergencies and so on.
If you can't find anyone suitable, then self check-in would work, if your listing is tricky to locate then you could consider putting a powerpoint page together with some images and instructions to make the check-in easier and send that to your guests before they leave home.
