Need to evict people. AirBnb doesn't respond.

I am not currently a host. I had a long term renter that was renting until July 20. This renter listed the place on AirBnb. Apparently, AirBnB didn't bother checking if he was the owner or had my permission. This renter gave the key to people he found on AirBnB and then left the country. So now, there are 12 people in the apartment. Double the amount, I would ever allow. I need to kick these people out now. Unfortunately I'm in another country at the moment.

AirBnB makes it impossible to contact them. I've left messages in the help area. So if I don't get a response from them, I'll be forced to travel there. Then, I'll sue AirBnb for my travel expenses and lost work. Plus I'll have to hire a man with a gun to force these people out. They won't want to go easily because they've already paid.

Since AirBnB was clearly negligent in allowing a non-owner to rent my property. How do I get them to respond and avoid a major lawsuit for all my expenses?

Twitter.

If you have contact with the people that are there now, you have to explain to them the situation and ask them nicely to leave.  if that doesnt work, you may have to go to court and file an eviction to evict them, like my sister just has to do for her home. Each state is has different rules for evicting people. so call your local state 211 and ask them for the number to evict squalors.

I will be praying for you. If this was in Houston, I would help you more.

That's not good - but you need legal advice on how to remove these people, rather than posting messages about lawsuits and guns.

These forums are not monitored by AirBnB, its just where us hosts talk and discuss problems etc.

Get a good local lawyer and start eviction proceedings immediately.

(Also, for info. AirBnB does not vet hosts to see if they own a property or whether they are entitled to let or sublet.)

@Sean36 Click on the link below to see all the ways you can get in touch with Airbnb, including telephone numbers.  I don't think that Airbnb has a support phone number for Colombia, but you can call the Argentinian number.  As someone mentioned, twitter @airbnbhelp is the fastest, most efficient way to contact Airbnb.

When users sign up to host they agree to Airbnb's Terms of Service in which they certify that the they have all permissions required to rent the property on Airbnb.  Apparently this was not true in your case.  When you contact Airbnb be sure to tell them that your renter does not have permission to rent on Airbnb and they will remove the listing immediately.  I'm not sure what Airbnb can do to remove the people from your house other than to contact them and tell them they have to leave.  They may even offer to assist the people in moving to another listing.

I wish you good luck!

Hi Sean

What happened, did you get rid of the people? I would be interested to know. Is the proeprty in Columbia? If it is some of these people have no idea about how life is there.
