Not able to access messages through website -error message

When I go to access messages from hosts within the desktop app, I keep getting an error message. It reads "Sorry, an error has occurred. Please try again." I have tried over and over for weeks to access. I am using Chrome on a MacBook Pro. I cleared my cache and still nothing. I want to rent a property but waiting for a confirmation from the host. Would appreciate anybody's guidance on this!

As alternative you can set your account to receive a copy of  messages also in your private emailbox.

Maybe better contact Airbnb about the error message
