We are a couple of seniors, open-minded and multilingual, and we offer a nice, spacious room in Winterthur, Switzerland. Our place is called «Chez nous». We also used to be superhosts in the past and have only positive feedbacks. But for some time we haven't got any more bookings via Airnb. At the same time we do get people via a Swiss platform. I found out, that Airbnbn doesn't show our ad any more. Instead - when you enter «Winterthur» - it is offering a lot of other places far beyond our city until Zurich and up to the Rheinfall. This is not really helpful for people having to do in our city. Airbnb seems to imagine that people only travel for pleasure and vacation. At the same time the system keeps telling us, we should lower our price to get more bookings which is completely unjustified in comparison to the places and qualities they do show. We regret this loss, because we enjoy meeting people from other countries, we offer quality and human contact. Unfortunately we are not able to accept instant booking nor self check-in.
Could it be that we are being punished for not accepting instant booking, self check-in, and for not lowering our price to the level of a simple hostel? Or could it be a mistake of algorithm?
It is such a pity that - having to do with Airbnb - you deal with a big and rigid machine instead of communicating with human beings. Artifical intelligence and its limits?

Your listing is still in the search system:

Maybe zoom in some more on the map when searching.
There is no punishment because of the reasons you mentioned, it could be more competition in your region. You can check the amount of views in your statistics. Also other ratings are displayed there.
Best regards,
Emiel
Thanks Emiel. You may be right. There is in fact more competition. The numerous critical articles on Airbnb in Europe and bans in some cities have a big advertising effect. More people discover Airbnb and want to be hosts.
We meanwhile found out, that our place can indeed still be found on a home computer with some more time and zooming, and also on the i-pad. Searching on a smartphone however needs more skills and patience. Travelors searching on a smartphone are more unlikely to find us.
We lost our super host status due to insufficient frequency due to a baldly arranged and not very logical multitude of offers far beyond our city - notwithstanding our other excellent ratings. Because quantity is the crucial factor and promoted first.
