Payment delayed

My guest ask to extend his reservation by one extra night after he had arrived. I sent the guest a request for money for the additional night. It showed that the guest had paid immediately. I was wondering why the money had not be transferred to by paypal account and when I logged in to AirBnB I noticed it is now saying payment delayed. Does anyone know what this means and how I can get my money?

@Krista6 If Airbnb mentioned payment delayed it means the payment has been taken but it will take probably 1 or 2 business days to reach your paypal account. I would advice you to use payoneer if you have this as a payout option, with payoneer Airbnb payout takes only a few hours to reach your payoneer account. Good luck!!!

It’s been more than a few days. Almost a week. But I’ll keep waiting to see what happens. Thanks.

@Krista0dont be surprised if it takes months to receive payout. I ve hosted about 60 trips  or so and out of that 60 I only  had problems with 1 payout. Luckily  it was for only $80 however I opened 3 cases  repeatedly for the same problem of not receiving payouts and although they kept closing the case saying it was resolved it was not and I might  open it for a 4th time now. I actually have not rented to anyone also with hopes they would resolve my issue quicker but they still don't care and keep telling me they have someone working on it and never responded to my last message in my last case. So if you have to take a loss for that day  be prepared  and try to make best with what they do to resolve ur issue.

Hi Krista,

I have been in your situation twice in the last few months. Both times, someone booked a room with me, and then extended their stay after arrival. Airbnb allowed the guests to extend their stays even though the guests did not pay for the extra nights, and then Airbnb refused to release the money that they had receieved for the original reservation until they collected the additional money. The first time, I guess the guest paid after a week or so and I received my money. The second time, the guest never paid. I had a series of phone calls and emails with Airbnb for about two weeks until they said the issue had gone to their collections department. A few more weeks later, they finally issued my payment. Remember that this was more than a month after the guest had actually stayed with me, and Airbnb had been holding onto the money from the original reservation the entire time.

So all I can say is that it's not just you; Airbnb really needs to stop giving guests extra nights they haven't paid for.

I had this happen twice. The first time was a nightmare because the guest stated they sent the money for the additional night when they really didn't, then they wanted to pay cash instead which you should never do. I insisted that she send a completely new reservation request for the extra night which worked perfectly. The second time a guest asked to extend their stay, I asked them to send a new reservation request which again worked without a hitch. This is how I will always do it. That way, the first reservation gets paid out without any delay or confusion.

This happened to me once in the very beginning. The guest said they wanted to extend and couldn't figure out how. I called airbnb they helped him but it was the last day of existing reservation so  the money wasn't supposed to pist right away. Then I got a message saying there was s problem with hid payment. Airbnb then said to tell him to leave and he would be charged for the 2 days which turned into 3. My boyfriend went over and made him leave. Airbnb gave me the money 2 months later. Lesson learned if they extend late and money doesn't come through before your normal check out make them leave and let them know they can re reserve when payment goes through.

I think airbnb is more and more becoming a joke really. I am yet to be paid for the 10th day now. I think I will not accomodate air bnb guests going forward.
