With airbnb, full payment is made at the time of booking.

There may be ways around the issue and it depends on your situation, your agreement with the guest, length of stay, season etc.

You could for example make her do a reservation for part of the stay and block the remaining days until she is ready to make the second reservation/instalment. If you do make such an agreement, you should have a strict cancellation policy in place while she books and the second instalment/booking made well in advance of arrival so that you are certain to have enough time to rebook the blocked days in case of cancellation.

@Sue-Ling0  if it's a long term reservation that lasts 28 nights or more the guest will be charged a first month down payment when they book and the rest will be collected in monthly installments. If the booking is for less than 28 nights then the guest has to pay in full at the time of booking, that is the system.

thank you very much.

Hi Sue-Ling, I am also a host in Aruba (Cura Cabai area) just started and I dont have no idea what i am doing. Hopefully everything will work out.

How can we "see" where the money is?

With another site I use for a different property it's done differently, usually in two payments.  And there is a page that shows payments.

I have accepted a lot of bookings on this brand new listing and before I send them the access codes...I'd like to see the money somewhere...at least in my "account" page or somewhere even if it's not released to me yet (I expect it after they check in).

Can anyone tell me where/how I see payment was indeed made (my understanding is on AirBnB they pay 100% when making reservation).

Thank you for your help.....

I too have a guest who wants to pay a 50% deposit now to secure a booking for December for 7 nights.

I was previously told it could be done, but that I had to relax my cancellation policy.  I have done this, but the guest is still not able to pay the 50%.

Is this infact so, or can they really only pay a deposit for a long term booking of over 28 nights?
