Today my first guest family showed up. Very nice people. I seem to recall that Airbnb said that once it was confirmed that the guest showed up Airbnb would then make the payout to my account (bank deposit). However, I cannot find anywhere on Airbnb.com website any links about how will Airbnb find out whether the guest(s) showed up or not. I do see the link about the guests who have paid Airbnb and how much payout will be made to me, but there is nothing I can find that says Airbnb has sent those payout funds. Anybody know the answer to this question: How will I be notified, and when, about the payout? James
@James1671 Normally guest payments are released 24 hours after the guests check in, which is calculated as your listed check-in time (In fact, it doesn't matter whether the guest even arrives, and there is no "reporting guests' arrival" to Airbnb). It can take a few more days after that to see the funds in your bank account, paypal, or whatever payout method you've chosen.
But for new hosts, your first payout will be delayed up to 30 days. After that, you should see a payout release as normal, 24 hours after check-in time. Look under "Transaction history" in your hosting account to see the status of your payouts.
Hi Sarah, thank you for taking the time to answer my query. Much appreciated. I wonder why they take so long to payout new hosts. Thanks again. Have a great day. James
@James1671 I think it's supposed to be some kind of safeguard to make sure new hosts are actually legit and the guests don't report that the place was just a flop house or didn't actually exist. And I'm sure Airbnb doesn't mind collecting interest on the payments they hold 🙂
Glad your first guests are really nice- hope you have many more.
Thank you again, Sarah. Best of success to you. J
