Question regarding notifications and phone number

Hello,

I am unable to list my cell phone number. My phone number is originally from virgin mobile. When I try to list it, it says that it is not valid. My sister has allowed me to list her number temporarily, but I really would like the notifications to come to me directly. Any suggestions? Help!
