can anyone answer the question, if I refer a host do they also receive money after first guest or is it just me ?

You refer a host - you receive the bonus. 
The host (you referred) refers a host - they receive the bonus, you get squat-all. 
It's not a triangle affair, if that's what you were asking, @Tara95?

Also you won't get paid if the property OR the host (I think) has been on Airbnb before

They don't @Adrian-and-Bernie0  there is a minimum spend on the accommodation for qualify for the referral.

We live in a very low cost area. Our typical booking is about US$30. Rustic accomodations. Airbnb is not paying us until there is enough money in our account to pay $240 for 2 referrals. $240 is a small fortune here in a rural area of the Philippines. I believe that you are wrong about the minimums or they are not applying that to us.
