Refunds

I am a host and 3 friends and I planned a trip to Napa Valley. We had been planning this trip for 2.5 years. However, due to a freak April snowstorm today, we had to cancel our whole trip. We are very disappointed!  Now we are being told we will only get about  $395 out of our $2000+ that we paid for a 4 night stay. We tried to switch airlines and tried to reschedule for tomorrow but the airport will probably be closed until tomorrow afternoon plus there was a lack of options.   My question is....should we expect a bigger refund than $395???  All interstates are closed and it's a huge mess. Comments please ! for me as a guest and as a host who might have to handle such a case someday.

@Coleen23

Maybe it will be considered as "extenuating circumstances"? :

Otherwise

- your travel-insurrance can help ?

- The host can help if you want to rebook to other period

Best regards,

Emiel

@Coleen23 , What a major bummer! You might try asking the host if they rebook, a good possibility in Napa, could they see their way clear to giving you a refund for all nights they get filled. Or, like @Emiel1  suggested, rebook your dates?

You travel insurance will cover that.
