Can a group of 17 year olds rent an Airbnb without an adult?

Airbnb terms of service state that to use the Airbnb site and services and create an account to travel you must be 18 years or older- so unless someone in the group is 18 or older and has an Airbnb account then the answer to your question is no I'm afraid.

In theory you are right. However, I received a request from a 16-year-old, travelling with another 16-year-old and no one older. He had his own account.

I am not sure how this happened as I don't think he had tried to do something clever to by-pass the system because he was totally honest about their ages in his initial email. I just told him I don't accept under 18s and that was the end of it, but it did leave me wondering how this was even possible with 'verified' ID.
