Requests for blocked dates

I have people asking to book on blocked dates. If I decline, itgoes as a strike against me, and, guessing from the post by Jacinta, if I wait too long for them to withdraw their request, Airbnb bots wreck my site.   I can ask the potential guest to withdraw their request.  But they don’t have to.

So.  I am damned if I do and damned if I don’t.

Can we all agree that if someone requests to book on a BLOCKED DATE we don’t have to accept or decline the request?

And Airbnb needs to remove the strike against me for declining a request on BLOCKED DATES!

I have screenshots of the convo and he wanted to book for a month but knew I only limit bookings to five days and was asking for a month which was blocked.

I don’t mind people asking, but I do mind being punished for Airbnb’s weirdo system.

Please fix this.

@Pauline74 guests should not be able to send a request to book on dates that are not available.

I'm inclined to think this was a booking enquiry, which is a different thing.

You do not have to accept or decline an enquiry, all you have to do is reply to the guests message and the 24hr clock will stop counting down.(sometimes you have to refresh your screen to stop the clock)

The link below explains enquiry's
