Reservation Change During Start.

Why does Airbnb allow a guest to request a shorter alteration once the reservation has started?

My cancellation policy is the moderate setting so it allows guest to cancel or make alterations before their stay. I have a guest who stayed last night and then this morning said she isn’t staying the second night. She made a request to alter her reservation. I realize I can decline her request, but this looks really bad on me as a host and could give her the chance to give me a bad review. Please help.

Of course it will be experienced negatively by the guest, @Jared113 if a host does not give a guest what they want.  If the money is important, don't agree.  If the guest getting what they want is important, agree.  It is your choice as to how you run your business.  Why would you want Air BNB  to regulate your business?

When a guest changes their mind you can be understanding and actually look like the hero by agreeing to a partial refund or a total refund for unused nights.   Or, you can stand by your cancellation policy and respond to any negative review with a professional response that puts the issue right back on the guest.

As @Linda108 says:

stand by your cancellation policy and respond to any negative review with a professional response that puts the issue right back on the guest.

The guest booked you and agreed your terms. Stick to your terms and tell your guest that you're happy to fulfill and stick to your part of the rental agreement.
