Scam?

A guest booked with me. The picture is of a woman with a woman's name, and when the message came through the person introduced himself with a different, male name and said he is coming down with a buddy to go fishing. The guest does not have reviews. This is only my 5th time hosting, is there a chance this is a scam? Thanks!

There's always a chance.
Please, be careful with such strangers, It could be dangerous. This guest doesn't seem to be a reliable person.

@Annie485  Not necessarily a scam, but he obviously is trying to book through someone elses's account. Tell him you can't accept a third party booking, it's against Airbnb's terms of service. He needs to open his own account to book.

Soon after she sent a message saying that he is her husband and I did verify through Facebook that they are who they say they are. Does he still need his own account if they are married? Thanks.

Hi Annie,

As Sarah @Sarah977 states Third party bookings are not allowed by AirBnB, you will not be covered by airbnb host protection if anything goes wrong.

Telephone AirBnB to get the booking cancelled (DO NOT CANCEL YOURSELF, GET AIRBNB DO IT)

@Annie485   Tell the woman that the guest booking must be the registered guest. Her husband needs to set up his own account since she will not be staying on the property with him this time. A third party booking also cancels out the Host Guarantee.
