Scam?

Hi!

I received this email from a landlord trying to rent her place.

“Hello,

Thank you for your answer.
In order to make the reservation via Airbnb, I would need your contact information (name, address, phone number). Once I have registered you for an inspection, Airbnb will send you an invoice with all the details of the rental, along with the payment instructions to confirm the reservation. Payment for the first month of rent and security deposit will be made through Airbnb. The payment is a simple formality and by paying you are not obliged to rent the apartment, as Airbnb only wants to verify your identity and to have a confirmation that you have the funds available if you decide to rent the property. After you confirm the payment, Airbnb will contact you to set the date and time of the inspection.
Upon viewing the property, if you decide to rent it, all you have to do is to sign the rental agreement and the Airbnb agent will hand over you the keys. The lease will start from the date when you move in and the next month will be due on the same date of the following month.
Please note that in case you do not like the property and refuse to rent it, you will receive a full refund in the same day, but I assure you that the property is exactly like in the pictures, very beautiful and clean.

If you still interested and would like to proceed further, please send me the requested info and I'll open the reservation immediately.

Thank you!”

is that a scam, right?

Thanks

@Nayara8,

Yes, it is a scam. These are not Airbnb procedures. It's also an known scam, seen it before on the community.

Best regards,

Emiel
