Specific Dates Minimum Stay - settings help

The minimum days requirement setting is unclear and seems to have changed. In the "during specific dates" setting, I entered July 19-20 (a Friday and Saturday) with a minimum of 4 days, and that check-in could be any day of the week. I understood that to mean that any booking that *happens during* or *includes* those dates must be a minimum of 4 days.

Then I got a booking on July 18-21 (3 days). I wrote to Airbnb and the agent explained that the minimum only apples for *check-in* or *starting on* the dates I entered. That is certainly not clear on that settings page, and even if it were to be clear, it makes no sense to set it that way. Focusing on the check-in day is far too complicated.

I am certain that is not what that setting used to mean (I tested it when I began using it a couple of years ago) and I never had this problem before. Some of my weekends have 3 day minimums, some 4, some 5, etc., and I change those minimums periodically. I want to be able to specify the weekend dates and change the minimum number of days on the fly, and let the rest work itself out.

Has anyone else had this problem?  Is anyone else surprised *during* currently means *starts on* that date?  Would anyone *want* this to mean any listing that *includes* those dates?

Only te check-in date is used to determine the minimum stay. It has allways been that way. Setting a minimum stay for a certain period does not mean that period acts like a "wall". So thats why you got a booking  for 3 nights on 18 july, as only the rules active on 18 july are considered and NOT the rules active on 19, 20 etc... To me is i a very straightfoward logic.

It may be straightforward to you, but that is not what is suggested by the words "during specific dates." If that is the case, it should say "for check-in on specific dates." 

What makes you say that it has always worked that way?  Are you a programmer?   I am confident there was a programming change based on my testing of the system as well as my experience.   I have always set the specific dates of Friday and Saturday only and selected the number of minimum days I wanted over that particular weekend.  I tested the system and my listing would not show up in a search or if I attempted any booking for fewer than the minimum days that included those Fridays or Saturdays (e.g. if I set it to 3 minimum days, I was unable to book a Thursday through a Saturday, even though I did not specify Thursday in that minimum).  I have set it this way for almost 3 years, and this is the first time I have had a booking for under the minimum days.
