I had a guest with his gf come last night at 11pm and left at around 8am very nice in their messaging. Went to clean the unit and they took my wall art off the walls shoved them under the kitchen sink. Took my basket of flavored keurogs shoved those behind the garbage- removed all the bathroom amenities that were in the cabinet (mouthwash, lotion, toothpaste etc) placed all those under sink. Took all blankets, pillows, and comforter shoved under bed! When I first walked in I thought everything was stolen. I messaged him nicely saying how unnecessary this was his response was” K” He just joined 2019 and has no reviews. Isn’t this weird? Should I leave a bad review? Thanks everyone!
That is peculiar. Write a factual review just stating exactly what you found without speculation as to cause. If you would not host them again, say so.
@Aaron414 Please be honest in your review of this guest. I have to wonder if he or his girlfriend suffer from sleep walking and moved all these things in their sleep and left it that way. If they were awake while they did it, that is truly weird! I would not want to host someone who does such strange and almost scary things.
Honestly, it sounds like they're the kind of people who get off on pranking people. They probably left your place giggling to themselves about how you would react to the weird way they left your belongings. It's also very possible that they were super-high when they did it.
Listen, people are really odd. If nothing was damaged or stolen, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. There's LITERALLY no reason for what they did which means it had to be intentionally to screw with your head. They're weirdos. Write an objective, non-judgemental review stating what you found and don't ever host them again.
I’ve had people move around my furniture and hide a few things before, but this sounds extreme.
Sorry this happened, you probably thought they had taken all your stuff! would just say to detail this in your review - I read reviews on any prospective guests, and something like this would put me off, so it really is helpful when other hosts write honest reviews. You don’t have to say anything negative, but I would leave these details. If you would not recommend them, say so in the review.
How about they wanted to depersonalise you listing for the purpose of making,
1. A porn movie
2. To replicate your listing as a new hosting site.
3. To take photos to make a false long term rental listing.
essentally to use you home to scam someone.
Oh... that's creepy. I hadn't thought of that!
This is really weird!! I'm sure they had a reason; we might just never know what it was! And I really want to know! Definitely write a factual review.
"XX stayed for one night and spent little time in the apartment. However, when entering after checkout, many items had been moved throughout the space (wall art taken off the walls and put under the kitchen sink, moved K-cups behind the garbage, removed all the bathroom amenities that were in the cabinet and placed under sink, all blankets, pillows, and comforter were found under the bed.) I do not know why this was done and when asked I was offered no explanation.”
@Aaron414 Reviews whether host or guest reflect the reviewer's experience, so if you experienced this behavior as weird, then state that. If you would not want them as guests, state that and do not recommend. I am pretty sure only hosts worry about wording the review or leaving a "bad review". 😛
It was a porn photo shoot. Just had it happen to me.
