Hey guys,
I am new to airbnb and am looking for what i am sure will be a simple answer to a question.
I am trying to set my cancellation policy to 'Strict' but when I do the steps below I only get offered a Strict with Grace period option which does not allow me to set up the booking with 50% refund up until 1 week prior to check in. It seems to be full refunf until 14 days before the booking which is too long for me.
Any advice on how to set this?
thanks,
Brian.
To change your cancellation policy:
You have misunderstood how the strict cancellation policy works. Post the 48 hour cancellation period, there is a 50% cancellation charge on booking.
Hi Marie/Brian. I agree; I'd like to be able to choose a proper strict cancellation policy as described:https://www.airbnb.co.uk/home/cancellation_policies?_ga=2.57613034.1578885700.1537721086-1861797556....
..but there's no option to do so. I'm really unhappy that the strict policy was changed to one with a 48 hour grace period, and no option to opt out of this. I always answer very promptly and then confirm a booking within hours if not minutes and give details of where we are, etc.
@Sally309 They discontinued that policy. The new Strict with grace is basically identical to the old one with the exception to the first 48 hours after booking the reservation a guest can cancel penalty free in those first 48 hours only proved the reservation is more than 14 days away. One minute later and the strict policy will kick in with the 50% non-refundable until 7 days before when it switches to 100% non-refundable.
