Suspicious message

Hi! A Chinese guest is contacting me insistently since early in the morning for me to sign a one year rental contract with him in order to get his visa. I'm feeling very uncomfortable and I don't know what to do. I think he's trying to force me to do something that may turn against me in a near future. What do you advise? Is there anyone with a similar experience? Thanks in advance!!

Im not sure Chinese can leave the country yet, thats if he live in China, From my experience he needs a booking conformation to apply for a visa, if he is asking for a 1 year contract looks to me thats what he's trying to do.

We used to get many Chinese before covid they can use Airbnb booking conformation, dont get involved just block him.

@Teresa1808 Tell the guest to stop hassling you and, if they don't, ask Airbnb to block them.

Click on one of the little red flags next to one of the guest's messages. Pick the message that most concerns you. From here, you can report the guest and/or block them. To block them, you have to select 'they're being offensive', whether they are or not, as that's the only option.

@Teresa1808 He cannot force you to do anything . If you only host STR s tell him so . His visa requirements will only require an initial address. Host or not , its up to you but visa applications do not go through you , tell him so . Ring an agency to do with migration and ask if there are any such requirements for chinese citizens. Since you are a STR host I would simply tell this person so .H

Hi, I really appreciate your answer, I've just started recently on airbnb, so I'm still learning the first steps! I already blocked him and so far so good! Regards from Caparica. 🙂

We get all nationalities here in Phuket and it's difficult to keep up with visa and immigration rules, Most countries do not give Chinese visa on entry if they do it's maybe only 15 days.

Portugal being in the EU he is probably trying to get a Shengen visa which would allow him to travel throughout Europe,

Once he had made the booking through you and then got his visa, no doubt he would cancel his booking with you,

Yes I thought of that too. And he insisted in such a way that he became really suspicious. A trustful guest would never ever make this kind of pressure on a host.
