I've read the info AirBnB provides about taxes as well as questions from the community and am still VERY confused. I live in Oregon and the website says state taxes are paid for us - but what records do I receive to verify this? I pay taxes myself when I book through other mechanisms and I don't know whether to consider Air BnB bookings as "already paid" or not! More importantly, my city collects a 7% tax. Apparently I am supposed to collect this myself from guests and call it an "add on". I KNOW guests will be unhappy with this? Can't taxes be added as a line item along with Housekeeping or Security Deposit. PLEASE!! Nobody LIKES to pay taxes, but my city needs them, and I think it is important for us all to do the right thing.
