Guests unable to book

Guests unable to book

Hi!  We currently have someone trying to book our place for three days later this month.  They keep getting the response that online booking is unavailable at this time.  Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

they have to check if they have enough founds on their credit card , or maybe their cc is not verified yet, or they are coming with children and you don't host kids or else...

@Bob-Sheryl0 Guest is trying to book. I clicked the pre-approval button but system said unable to pre-approve as dates aren't available!! (They are available on my calendar). Guest has 5 reviews so I know she has booked previously. I think it may be some update to policies and procedures that Airbnb have implemented recently regarding verification of ID. I can see she has Government ID but no photo ID. (Nothing to do with profile photo.

Sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties with this. Can I check which device you are trying to pre-approve your guest from? If you are not on desktop, perhap try actioning this from a desktop and seeing if it might work.

@Lizzie Hi, just seen your message. I wasn't using a desktop, it was my phone. I had a request from another guest and the pre-approval worked that time. 

I think the gremlins were at work that day!

I had issues yesterday with a guest who had submitted a request to book which never came through. She ended up messaging me and asking if I had received it. I checked on 2 mobile devices (ipad and iphone) as well as desktop. On the desktop there was a pending request, but nowhere to approve or deny it, nothing on the mobile devices. After communicating back and forth via messaging for about 30 minutes and several request to book submissions on the guest's part, one finally came through. Was there a glitch in the system yesterday afternoon? Thankfully it worked out in the end, but it is disconcerting for guest and host alike not to be able to firm things up.

I have a potential verified guest trying to book but they say they can't and are getting this message - 

"I'm trying to book it but it keeps giving me an error saying that airbnb server is having issues lol"

Does anyone have any ideas?
