Two accounts one phone number

Recently I received some booking confirmation for another guy who apparently had my phone number before (I got my current phone number in 2017 and he registered in 2015) and didnt update his Airbnb profile.

I received all the conversation from the host and that bothered me a lot.

What make me really mad is that the supporting team said they can't just remove the phone number from his account unless getting his confirmation. This is really STUPID and MAKES NO SENSE.

Maybe Airbnb should update their phone number policy for not allowing two acconts sharing the same phone number or unlink the previous one when a new is registered.

did this ever get resolved? I have a similar situation... my number (that I've had for over 20 years) is connected to someone else's account and despite multiple screen shots of phone verification fails and calling them on my number showing it's mine, they won't fix it.

When trying to sign into my new Air bnb account, I wasn't able to, getting a message that the phone number was associated with more than one Air bnb account.  I remembered setting up an account for traveling purposes years ago (this new one was set up to host) but I thought I used the same email address that I am using now for hosting.  It doesn't make sense that there would be two accounts associated with one login email  so there must have been a really old email I used, but couldn't remember what it might have been.  At any rate, I wasn't able to find the older account as a result.  I called Air bnb (415-800-5959) and they were very helpful.  They were able to locate the older account and help me to get it canceled.

@Mitzi25  Yes, you can't have 2 Airbnb accounts- the same account is used for both travelling and hosting, and all your reviews, both as a host and a guest appear in the one profile (if you had good reviews as a guest it's kind of too bad you lost that account- it would have been better to reactivate the old account, and post your listing on it).

But I'm glad Airbnb was able to sort it out for you.
