After booking a place in Florence, I started to book another place in Rome. I could not continue because of a popup asking to upload credit card statement or enter two small amounts that should be on credit card statement. I called my credit card and there were 3 small amounts. I entered the last two which allowed me to continue booking. Now, I see an airbnb e-mail saying that I might have received en e-mail that appears to be from Airbnb but it is not. It suggests changing my password. Is it a common Airbnb practice to verify small amounts in Credit Card or to upload Credit Card statement when previous booking charge is still pending?
I tried contacting Airbnb to confirm and for my peace of mind but I could not find a phone number or e-mail to do so
