We had an interesting situation at our home this weekend. Our guests hosted their wedding reception in our backyard- complete with catering and an A/V system! They did not clear this with us, and our home is not listed or permitted through the city as an event space. They closed it down within about 2 hours after I asked them to and were apologetic. I’m guessing there were over 25 people there (our house is listed for 6-8 guests). I’m concerned with increased utility bills with that many people, and also worried about liability. Can anyone suggest an appropriate “extra charge” for this? Any other ideas for handling this?
