I have a rental with five stars on everything. I have been renting it for 5 years without major issues. My current guest is unhappy with my rental because we do not have the type of remote control and tv that he likes. He was irate and rude. He had only been there for 1 hour. I know it will go south from here and I really don't want him staying in my condo. He is scheduled to be there for a week. On top of that, he is going to give me a bad review. How does everyone handle these types of situations? If someone has a valid complaint for me, like a broken toilet, I usually give a bit of money back. I don't feel like this warrants a refund. I really want him gone. Thanks for the feedback.
@Heather-and-Andrew1 If you want them out of your condo, then you will be refunding them. Sadly, this is how AirBNB works these days. But they will be asked to leave a review either way. If you want them gone, you need to call AirBNB and ask that they be rehomed.
Who cares about the TV and remote when they are staying away from home?
@Heather-and-Andrew1 By now the guest has been here for half a day, so hopefully you have already arrived at a resolution.
Generally, though, if you realize so early in a guest's stay that you don't want them in your home, it's best to deal with that right away before they begin unpacking and settling in. This involves some compromise on your part, as you'll have to be willing to forfeit your payout.
