Urgent: Superhost Filter active on default

Hello Airbnb,

I am a host and today I visited the Airbnb site from a neutral computer that isn't mine.

I did not login but went straight to search for my listing by entering location and time.

The area showed up on the map but my listing did not.

Calendar settings were fine though, the selected dates were available.

Looking closer I found that the "Superhost" filter was activated on default.

I tried several other computers in the office and the same thing happened everywhere.

Now, I am not a superhost (yet) as I only finished my listing some three months ago.

But I have received three bookings for summer already.

Currently though my listing won't show up, because you have set this filter on default.

QUESTION:

Do you really think it's a good idea if new hosts don't show up??? How is one supposed to become a superhost if he cannot be found? And no, I don't think removing the default filter is an obvious thing to do for searching guests.

PLEASE do reply to this, as I think it means major disadvantages to new hosts, like me and many others.

Thanks, Tom

Tom - AirBnB don't read what is posted in these rooms - it's just hosts talking to one another.

I never realised that was the case - and when I check on my devices, the SuperHost filter is not automatically selected.

Will be interesting to see if other hosts can do the same and see what they find.

I get a full mix of both new and old hostsl - with a wide range of reviews (from none to 100 reviews)

Hello Tom

This was written in 2016 but even today in 2018 this is the case.  So obviously Air BnB have done nothing about it.  I agree with what you said 100%.  How are you supposed to rent your place when the default filter is Superhosts.  What gives with this?

I also notice not many comments here on this and wondering why that is after 2 years and this is still happening.

@Kerri48  I have never had this issue. I have to turn it on in a search.
