Hi guys, I’m a super host in Edinburgh and I’ve had an issue this weekend with the smart pricing on the app. I consistently used the option to turn it off on certain dates (for a year and a half without incident), in this case through August when the fringe festival is on.
I updated my app this week and found last night that all my set prices had been wiped out and someone had booked for six nights at half the price. I reiterate: this is Edinburgh in August, right in the middle of Fringe! I contacted support and they were firstly unaware this feature existed them told me there were issues they were working to resolve, but to also never use the app to set prices and listing settings. It’s absolutely mad.
So just warning all the other hosts out there to watch for this feature not working and messing up your pricing! I’ve turned smart pricing off full stop on the website, which is a shame because I use it at other times. I’ve been asked to fill out a ‘feedback form’ and basically told that the loss of earnings was my own fault for setting prices in the app.
