I have raised this issue many many times with the service support team but unfortunately my inquiry has never been heard. Now I hope to get some feedback from others who may confirm that this change should be done.
The issue I have is the charge per guest. I’m renting the place for $20 per night and I would like to charge $2 or $3 more per night for an extra guest if more than 2. Your system only allows me to charge minimum $5 per person. In my case $5 is 25% of the entire rate which is too much. If the night cost $80 which they do in most countries, $5 in addition per extra guest is a reasonable amount.
What I ask Airbnb is to take off the minimum amount of $5 and let me decide how much I think it’s fair to charge the guest. There shouldn’t be any minimum. If I believe $0.50 is an appropriate amount, let me do that.
I’d like to only charge extra for water, electricity and bedding / cleaning / laundry. I have tried to switch on that feature but I realised quickly that I had to switch it off again since I cannot justify a surcharge of 25%. I also cannot generally charge more since I wouldn’t get any guests.
I hope my request to wave the minimum charge of $5 per person per night will be heard.
