Wax on sheets/furniture

Wax on sheets/furniture

We had our second set of sheets with wax on them.  The last occasion I had to replace the sheets and later found wax on the ottoman (I had to tighten all the screws on the ottoman as well).  I caught the sheets, luckily, as they are normally laundered off-site.  I was able to save only one set. I'm quickly coming to terms with the fact that I will ALWAYS be buying new sheets as part of the business

As I'm an off-site host, this is tricky for me to ascertain the exact guest that might have caused the damage. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Thanks!

@Heidi703   Wow, your listings look amazing.

I can imagine that such an atmospheric location inspires guests to do some wacky things with candles, so in general I don't recommend providing them (except for the no-mess LED type). Of course, that's no defense against guests who bring their own equipment to play kinky Phantom Of The Opera-themed games in bed.

On-site hosts eventually become experts in obscure stain removal techniques, and wax is actually one of the easier ones, but it's probably cheaper to buy a new sheet than to pay overtime to a beleaguered housekeeper. In that sense, all the extra damage and wastage is the trade-off for outsourcing.

And if you're not 100% sure which guest caused damage, any claim is DOA.
