What does this mean in my messages? 'Not possible'

In a couple of messages  with people who are just enquiring, it states not possible! Why and whay does it mean? Is it the guest declining an offer?

Hi @Joanna16,

It either means you no longer have those dates available or the guest booked at another listing.  With reservation inquiries, the guest could have sent out 10 inquiries to listings in your area.  That also means that maybe ten people pre-approved the guest.

I believe "not possible" ONLY refers to the listing no longer being available some of the days of the request.

It is possible for guests to book multiple rooms at the same time even though this sort of violates airbnb policy (the person booking the room is expected to stay so if 2 people need 2 rooms they technically should each make their own booking--however it isn't implemented to enforce this).

So check your calendar and you'll see that there's a day booked during that reservation period.

In such cases, I'll usually make a special offer for a different room if I have one available and hope to get the booking.

I want to know the real answer to this question too. I was communicating through the messaging with the owner of the homes that we stayed in this weekend, and when I messaged him telling him that we were out of the house and locked it up, it said not possible. I'm wondering if it's just a glitch or something because it didn't say that the whole time that I was messaging him through the app during the stay (and if we were there in the house and paid for already then the reservation wouldn't be possible at that point anyway because it was already booked and paid for, and we were literally in the house already lol)
