Which insurances when renting out in Germany?

Hi everyone (particularly German hosts),

So, I live in Munich, Germany and I'm thinking about renting my flat (which I own).

However, I am not sure which insurances to get.

My main question: are there household insurances (Hausratversicherungen) which ALSO cover incidences which are caused by the guest while the guest is renting the flat?

How do you German hosts insure yourselves properly?

Thank you!

Johan

@Johan12 I think you can get Lloyds of London in Germany. They are world wide. That is my insurer, in Canada.

Hey Monica,

Thanks for yor input.

So, do they provide you a houshold insurance even if the appartment is rented out?

Which insurance you have with them, if I may ask?

Thanks again!

Hi @Johan12

In Australia they have [Link hidden] which you can pay a % per stay, I have yet to find something like this for Europe or Germany.

For Germany, I'm looking into [Link hidden] found out about them on this article [Link hidden].
