a changed reservation

Hey guys,

I was wondering if someone can help me out.

So I booked an air bnb for two months for September 1st till November 1st, I have paid the first months rent but I had to cancel my second months reservation as my family are meeting me in America in October. 

When I went to the billing details, it says that I still owe $246.28 but I'm not sure what it is for? Does anyone have any clue what I am paying for for that? Because I paid the first months out right so I'm confused as to why I still have to pay more money and why I wasn't told when I booked?

Please help me!!

You have booked under the long term cancellation policy.

Assuming you have sent an alteration request that the host has accepted, the only thing you can do now is to negotiate with the host for a refund if he/she can re-rent the cancelled dates.
