my friend has requested a booking twice and i am getting no notifications , and i cannot see her request to book.  has this happened to anyone else?

Is your friend's account verified with Airbnb yet?  If he/she is a brand new user (and depending on your setting), they may get verified before you will get a notification about the attempted booking.
