Hi, 

For some reason my calendar dates are opening up even though I have explicitly blocked them. I have been an airbnb superhost for three years and I can be sure that I am setting the calendar availability correctly. Why do some days randomly open up? I have to resolve this problem asap because now I have had two bookings slip through on days that I had blocked. I have cancelled one already but I am not comfortable cancelling the most recent one but will have too because the place is for sale and may not be avaialbe to rent on the dates that have booked. This is not a good pattern to continue for my superhost standing! Can anyone help?

@Tagny0  Other hosts have reported this same problem.  Random blocked dates opening when you have IB can be a problem for sure.  I would turn off IB especially if your home is for sale.  Or, I would not cancel any reservations from IB without contacting Air BNB.

I'm having the same issue without IB... I feel terrible Declining people for that reason. How does one even "contact AIRBNB" it seems like the only way to get help is through this forum! Thanks guys... 🙂

Hi Lynda, 

Thanks so much for your detailed help! Its much appreciated. 

I called Airbnb today and explained the situation. They said they would look into it but did not commit to helping me troubleshot the situation with my calendar.  Unfortunately, the calendar randomely opened up again and someone tried to book an hour ago. I am beyond frustrated.  I am thinking about pulling my listing off of Airbnb and switching to another.

@Tagny0  I am glad you do not have Instant Book, but still you should be able to trust that the settings and calender you have manually set will be in place.  That is a foundation of the terms and conditions.  I am not able to go to another platform as a shared space, but you have that option.
