check in information

check in information

So, we just received our first two reservations for our rental house. Do I send these people some sort of check in information or does airbnb do that? I am assuming I should send the address, key location, etc... We live next door, but I would rather not greet them and be sure they have their privacy. Any other details?

Thanks!

Katie

You must send them a message straight away, welcoming them! Here is roughly what I say:

Thank you for the booking, I hope you will have a great time! On Thursday, you can check in any time from 2pm, just let me know when you plan to arrive and I will meet you at the house on FFFFFFF street and show you how everything works. See you soon.

Why don't you want to meet them? Some hosts can't, but I am there every single time. Check them in, then you leave. Plenty of privacy. Be very excited, you are having guests! Hooray!

You will get much better reviews if you or someone is there to meet them and show them around the house, hand over keys and point out any little things they need to know re hot water, gas, etc... Good Luck

@Katie0, you should at least greet them if possible. It's often not possible for me, but I host businessmen & doctors, not tourists or families.
