communicating with possible guests

Recently I have had guests request my home whom I think may not be compatible (one has a parent who is coming---my rooms are on the third floor.  Another is coming to exhibit artwork at a convention.  My neighborhood doesn't permit truck overnight parking).  When I sent messages to them, PREVIOUS to accepting, neither responded.  Are these messages actually getting delivered?    The artist I went ahead and accepted so as to not harm my status (they can cancell with no financial penatly), but I still haven't received a response to the message I sent before accepting them.

@Jeanne231 I'd just send a follow up message saying looking forward to meeting them and reminding them again that parking is impractical or impossible. It's up to them to check their messages.
