Hello,

A client has asked me how much is the down payment when making a booking.

Is there a standard down payment set by airbnb or the host can decide how much should the down payment be?

Hi @Alessandro32,

Yes, the down payment is the entire booking amount at the time of booking chrage to their credit card.  If they cannot pay the entire amount at the time of booking, they cannot book on Airbnb.

Do you mean that when a client makes a booking he has to pay immediately the full booking amount? Is not possible to pay 50% immediatelly and the other 50% at a later date (for example one month before the arrival)?

No that is not possible....certainly for short stays - for longer stays (ie over a month) there is a differnt arrangement

Hi @Alessandro32,

Yes the person does pay the full amount at the time of booking except for the security deposit which there is a hold put on the credit card for that amount.

For long term, they take the first month and then charge the guest month by month.
