guest party all night to force our another guest left in the middle of the night.

What should i start, this is the worse experience we had , a guest booked our house in last minues, phone number in airbnb profile is not valid. ( which i really requestion airbnb now, what is the point of valid guest?)

Our advertisement says we have another unit in the basement, please no party no event, be quite to respect the neighbourhood, while in the middle of the night, we received the message from downstairs guest said they were partying upstairs, very loud music and talking, we asked them to lower the music, and explained again there is guest downstair, but they still continue, until 2am the morning, another unit guest called the police, they didn't stop, so the downstairs guest had to leave in the middle of the night angry and disappointed to find a hotel to stay.

The second day we called airbnb, we had to ask them to leave, our staff came over also to ask to leave, found out there were 4 cars parked outside, when they booked this house said 5 peoples , which is not true, it was more than 7 people there, all window were opened, music was very loud from outside. They claim they didn't kown there is another guest downstrairs, but we told them many times.

I have to say, i regret to accept the reservation! it cost us not only to pay the another guest hotel and refund , but also bad bad impression. i wish i could see any other host write a true review to help avoiding this situation happend again.

We prepare to accept bad review from them, but we will fight!

Now we requested airbnb the damage fee from the guest,  it is not a real damage in the property, but because of them, we have to pay the another guest hotel and refund. i provide the video and text with downstair guest. i read some old post, it seems it will be hard to ask airbnb to compensate this part, anyone have experence?

@Bin0 No harm asking but most unlikely you will be able to get any of the Security Deposit, effectively the Giest would have to agree which sounds unlikely.

David

@Bin0 I am sorry this terrible guest caused this bad incident.

I am glad you are angry and willing to fight. Your chance to get funds is somewhat limited, as really claims are normally limited to physical damage.

If I might make a suggestion, the time to fight this guest would have been the first moment you found out they were having a loud party.

When you find out that a guest is having a loud party, instead of just asking them to "lower the music", document the fact they are having the party, and call Airbnb to have the guest's reservation cancelled.

(The guest is already in clear and egregious violation of the house rules.)

Once the reservation is cancelled, the former guests can be treated like any other trespasser. Call the police and tell them that the guest is no longer allowed on the property. Have them escorted off.

Of course there will be a bad review from them. But that was going to happen anyway.

Thanks Mattew,

This is our first time experience this, i talked with airbnb a lot these two days, the person takes care of this case is very helpful, she asked them to leave the second day, and after we provide the evidences, we got our second night payout.   she also suggest us next time no matter what try to call airbnb at the first place. It is useful information for all other host.

I am prepare not getting back the damage fee that we paid the downstairs guests, but we will try.

@Bin0 it is so upsetting that the partying guests not only broke your rules, but also ruined the experience for your other guest. You might get not just one, but potentially two bad reviews because of *their* bad behavior.

People like that should not be allowed to ever use Airbnb again.

@Matthew285

I wrote the review for the bad behavior guest, i hope he will get banned. or no other host will ever accept his reservation to avoid those bad experience.

This just happened to me as well. Basically the same thing, except these bad guests effected 2 other units of mine. 1 left to go to a hotel and the other was very angry and is still there for the night. No one even called me that night. I didn’t even find out until the next day AFTER the bad guests left. I’m so mad on so many levels. I want them to pay out for the reputation damage. This is completely unacceptable. What ended up happening in your situation?
