how can I charge taxes to rental rate?

how can I charge taxes to rental rate?

Has anyone figured a way to add local tourist development taxes to the rate?  There are links in the descriptions Airbnb provides, but the links don't work  This is for the walton County tourist development tax of 4%    Thanks

Your listing shows there are taxes charged allready by Airbnb:

- General Sales and Use Tax (Walton)
- General Sales and Use Tax (Florida)

Hope this helps,

Hi  Emiel;  Thank you for replying.  State of Florida charges 6%, Walton County charges 1% and you will see that the taxes are 7% times the rental rate plus cleaning fee.  Unfortunately, there is a Walton County Tourist Development tax of 4% in addition to the above two taxes.   I have pro hosting on and none of the links that supposedly allow a host to add a local tax work.  The instruction links provided in directions for adding an additional tax do not APPEAR when the links are hit.  The person(s) at Airbnb that tried to help me over the phone and on the computer do not understand why the links do not show up or do not work.  Either way, everyone in Walton County is charging the wrong tax - I state this as I reproduced the tax on about 5 listings.  I was hoping to find someone that figured out how to do this correctly and in compliance with local laws.  I just recieved a letter from Walton County Tourist Development asking for 3 years of rental financials so they can get thier tax.  Also, there is a penalty of 3 times the tax due for failure to pay.  If you can help, that would be great.  Are you with Airbnb or a fellow host?  Dave

hi @David3728 - did you get this resolved? I'm helping host a friend's Air Bnb in Palm Beach County and just received an email about needing to apply for the Tourist Development Tax. I want to try and get it  figured out for them. Any advice you can provide would be appreciated! 🙂
